The University of Eastern Pangasinan (UEP) has signed a MOA with the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) for its first externally funded research project, titled โ€œPatterns and Effects of Parental Guidance on Sexuality and Reproductive Health Concerns among Children of OFW Families.โ€ Led by the Research, Innovation, Training, and Extension office under Dr. Jeofrey B. Abalos, the study examines parent-child communication on reproductive health and sets the foundation for UEPโ€™s future research endeavors.

The Center for Pangasinan Studies (CPS) led a benchmarking visit to UP Diliman and UP Los Baรฑos on July 3โ€“4, 2025, with UEP representatives joining to explore research, publication, and extension best practices. The two-day activity featured discussions on faculty incentives, collaborative programs, and global partnerships, highlighted by presentations from key UPLB offices and a talk by Balik Scientist Dr. Elemer Mojica. The visit strengthened academic ties and opened opportunities for cooperation in research, ethics training, and institutional development, reaffirming CPS and UEPโ€™s commitment to advancing Pangasinanโ€™s academic landscape.

The University of Eastern Pangasinan (UEP) successfully held its first International Research Conference on March 18, 2025, highlighting innovation, technology, business, and education under the theme โ€œLeveraging Empirical Research to Promote Societyโ€™s Well-being and Foster International Understanding.โ€ The event featured keynote speaker Dr. Dahlia Simangan from Hiroshima University and showcased outstanding research presentations, with Mr. Glen S. Diwag winning first place. The conference affirmed UEPโ€™s dedication to promoting global research excellence and societal advancement.

UEP attends two back-to-back international research conferences

The University of Eastern Pangasinan (UEP) participated in two international research conferences: the 6th Asian Population Association Conference in Nepal and the 1st KUUB Postgraduate by Research Colloquium in Malaysia. Led by Research Director Dr. Jeofrey Abalos, who presented and chaired sessions, UEP delegates showcased studies on topics such as sustainability, education, and innovation. The events gathered global researchers, promoting collaboration and strengthening UEPโ€™s commitment to addressing global challenges through research and academic excellence.
